The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais
wishes to inform the population that since September 12, a nurse clinician is present at the
CLSCs of La Pêche and Val-des-Monts to offer sexual health services.
This service is intended for people between the ages of 12 and 24.
In addition, other youth sexual health clinics are already open throughout the region for free and anonymous services.
Services offered at these sexual health clinics include:
- Screening and treatment of asymptomatic STIs
- Screening and treatment of asymptomatic partners
- Referral to a specialized nurse practitioner as needed (for symptomatic cases)
- Counseling on safe sex practices
- Condom distribution
- Vaccination against HPV and hepatitis for clients who meet the criteria of the Protocole
- immunization protocol
- Initiation, change and renewal of oral contraception
- Injection of Depo-Provera
- Emergency contraception (morning-after pill)
- Pregnancy tests
Please note that clients aged 14 and over must contact the CLSC themselves to make an appointment.
Young people can also take advantage of the presence of a CLSC nurse in their school to talk about
their sexuality.
